After the bad cave tour experience earlier in the day (read about that tour here) I was a little leery of taking another tour while at Wind Cave, but I had the time so I went ahead and signed up for the last Garden of Eden Tour of the day. This tour is about an hour long, covers a third of a mile of Wind Cave, and costs $10. There were only 15 of us in attendance AND every single one of them was at least 30 years older than me!! It was fantastic!
We were able to see interesting cave formations and actually hear what the Park Ranger giving the tour was telling us. We also got to experience total darkness, where all the electric lights are shut off and the cave goes completely black – it is such a cool experience.
I’m really glad I went on the Garden of Eden Tour. I’m going to keep in mind for next time that the first and last cave tours of the day are probably the tours with fewer people.
