Devils Tower NM: Joyner Ridge Trail

The Joyner Ridge Trail exemplifies the different ecosystems in the area. If hiked clockwise: you hike along a ridge then descend a cliff down into a meadow. The trail is 1.5 miles long. It is definitely the most secluded of the hiking trails. A dirt road leads from the main park road to the trail-head. I only saw four people while on the trail.

I enjoyed doing all three hikes, Tower Trail, Red Beds Trail, and Joyner Ridge Trail because of the unique perspective each provides of Devils Tower. Also, as the day goes on the tower changes colors and shapes as the sun moves across the sky.

lunch number 3 of the day definitely had the best view
