Tangeman Woods Nature Preserve

Tangeman Woods Nature Preserve is operated by Sycamore Land Trust. It is located across State Road 46 from Touch the Earth Natural Area. Tangeman Woods is named after Clementine Tageman. She was a past owner of the property and a member of the prominent Miller family that started Cummins Engine Company that is headquartered in nearby Columbus, Indiana.

Parking is available at the Fire Station where the trail-head is located (be sure not to block the fire trucks – that would be bad). The trail is a hilly 0.6 miles. It is called the Outdoor Lab trail and is used for school field-trips. It was built in the 1970s. The stairs and bridges were redone in the last couple years and the area was recently cleaned up by volunteers with Sycamore Land Trust.
