Leonard Springs Nature Preserve is another hiking spot that I first heard about from a member of Women Who Hike. It is located in Bloomington, Indiana near the Monroe County Fairgrounds. My mom and I went this past weekend to check it out.
There are two caves, a wetland, and numerous waterfalls. It had stormed the night before so the waterfalls were really loud. The birds were happy and sang to us as we hiked.
There is a 1.1 mile hiking trail that traverses the Nature Preserve. It is classified as rugged; I’m guessing because there is a number of stairs. Otherwise, the trail is not that difficult.
A short portion of the trail runs alongside a farm where mom and I were startled by something large in the corner of our eye moving. It was a cow.
